Our story
In 2015, while still studying fashion design, Ērika Rudika and her dear friend Jekaterina Polanska (now Alexeeva) shared a dream. Drawing inspiration from minimalist aesthetics, Scandinavian simplicity, and craftsmanship rooted in Latvia, they co-founded what would soon become Vaskala. Without Jekaterina’s creative spark and support in those early days, Vaskala might never have been born.
Today, Vaskala continues as Ērika’s heartfelt vision—crafted with care, locally in Riga.
Vaskala
The name Vaskala was born from a Swedish word "väska" (bag) and "la" that stands for Latvia Reflecting our commitment to local craftsmanship.
Creation
Every Vaskala product is conceived in our design studio in Latvia, where elegance and functionality are always at the forefront of our process. Erika Rudika, alongside the creative team, leads the design and development of each collection, drawing inspiration from the valuable feedback we receive from our customers. Every detail is thoughtfully crafted to create timeless, versatile pieces that perfectly blend style and practicality.
Production
Our products are carefully crafted in two expert workshops, located in Latvia. Every piece is produced on-site, with the majority of the process being meticulously handmade. This dedication to craftsmanship ensures that each Vaskala item meets our high standards of quality and durability.
Distribution
Since Vaskala's founding in 2015, we have been the exclusive distributors of our products. By cutting out resellers and intermediaries, we are able to offer our customers the fairest prices possible, all year round—without unnecessary markups. This direct approach ensures you receive exceptional quality at an honest price.
