Terms of Use
SIA VASKALA, Registration No. 40103921441, Address Tērbatas iela 85-1, Riga, LV-1001, Latvija, hereinafter referred to as the “Online Store,” provides the content available on this website and supplies goods/services in accordance with the Terms of Use set out below.
General Provisions
When a consumer purchases goods/services through the website, this agreement is considered a Distance Contract and is subject to the laws of the Republic of Latvija governing distance contracts, including but not limited to the “Consumer Rights Protection Law” and the Latvijan Cabinet of Ministers Regulations “Regulations on Distance Contracts.”
Product Availability and Delivery Times
Products listed as available on VASKALA© are considered in stock. Our product offerings and prices are valid as long as they are visible on the website, subject to stock availability.
Certain products may be labeled with a "Preorder" tag. These products are specially made for you, requiring an additional production time of 2–4 weeks before shipping. When placing a preorder, you acknowledge the extended delivery timeline.
If a product is unavailable at the time of your visit, you can be notified by email by entering your address in the designated field.
We reserve the right to limit the number of orders per account for the same product.
Unless you request a replacement solution for an equivalent product, your unavailable order may be canceled upon your request, and you will be refunded if your bank account has been debited.
Shipping
Shipping costs vary based on the weight and destination of the package according to Delivery company rates. Returns within Latvija are always free.
For express delivery, VASKALA© offers a courier delivery option within the Baltic region, Poland, Finland, and Sweden only.
Deliveries are made to the address specified on the order form, which must be in a country where delivery is possible.
Estimated delivery times vary from 2 to 15 working days depending on the destination of the order. The delivery dates are to be used as a guide only and commence from the date of dispatch. We are not responsible for any delays caused by destination customs clearance processes.
Delivery is subject to the following conditions:
- We deliver from Monday to Friday.
- We aim to dispatch all orders within 3 working days after your order.
- We will attempt to deliver your package at least twice to the specified address. We reserve the right to cancel your purchase if no one signs for the package.
- You are responsible for the package once delivery has been completed.
- You must inspect the products within a reasonable timeframe after receipt and accept the product unless you notify us within 14 days of receiving it that the items are refused.
Delivery times are provided for reference only.
If your package is delivered by Post and arrives open and/or damaged, we advise you to refuse it.
If you choose to accept the package, you must:
- Write detailed, handwritten notes on the observed issue.
If you refuse the package, in addition to the handwritten notes, you must:
- Ask the carrier to return the package to us.
- Obtain a formal report of the refusal and keep a copy.
For other carriers, regardless of whether you accept the package, for any package that arrives open and/or damaged, you must:
- Write detailed, handwritten notes on the delivery slip.
- Notify us and the carrier in writing within 3 business days of delivery.
Payment Methods
Payments can be made by credit card or via PayPal.
We accept the following cards:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- American Express
- Bank Transfers: Supported via MakeCommerce.lv (Maksekeskus AS) for select Baltic and Nordic banks.
International payments are processed through Stripe's secure system, which uses SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layer) to protect your information during transmission.
The buyer's account will be debited after order confirmation, at the price of the ordered products.
Upon request, the buyer will receive an invoice including VAT details.
Product Returns
Products purchased online from VASKALA© can be returned for a refund within 14 days of delivery, as long as they are unused and in their original packaging.
Personalized products (e.g., monogrammed initials, product modifications, special orders) cannot be returned or exchanged.
If the 14-day period expires on a weekend or public holiday, it is extended to the next business day.
To facilitate the return process, we encourage you to notify our customer service in advance via email.
Return procedure:
- Retrieve your order or invoice number.
- Contact our customer service at vaskala@vaskala.com.
- Place the products in their original box, package them securely, and clearly label the return package with the Return Number provided.
- Print the Return label we send you and drop off the package at your nearest post office.
Please Note: If you choose to return your package, you will need to compensate for the delivery costs incurred.
We do not accept C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) returns.

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method once the return has been received at our distribution center. Expect a refund within 10 days of receipt.

Privacy Policy
1. General Provisions
1.1. This Privacy Policy describes how SIA VASKALA, Reg. No. 40103921441, legal address Tērbatas iela 85-1, Riga, LV-1001, Latvija (hereinafter also referred to as the "Data Controller") collects, processes, and stores personal data obtained by VASKALA Online store from its customers and individuals visiting the website (hereinafter referred to as the "Data Subject" or "You").
1.2. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, i.e., the Data Subject. Processing includes any action related to personal data, such as obtaining, recording, modifying, using, viewing, deleting, or destroying data.
1.3. The Data Controller complies with the data processing principles established by law and confirms that personal data is processed in accordance with applicable regulations.
2. Collection, Processing, and Storage of Personal Data
2.1. Personally identifiable information is collected, processed, and stored by the Data Controller primarily through the online store website and email.
2.2. By visiting and using the services provided by the online store, You agree that any information You provide will be used and managed according to the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
2.3. The Data Subject is responsible for ensuring that the personal data submitted is accurate, correct, and complete. Knowingly providing false information is considered a violation of this Privacy Policy. The Data Subject must promptly notify the Data Controller of any changes in submitted personal data.
2.4. The Data Controller is not responsible for any losses incurred by the Data Subject or third parties due to false personal data submissions.
3. Processing of Customer Personal Data
3.1. The Data Controller may process the following personal data:
- Name, surname
- Date of birth
- Contact information (email address and/or phone number)
- Transaction data (purchased products, delivery address, price, payment details, etc.)
- Any other information provided to us when purchasing services and goods offered on the website or when contacting us.
3.2. In addition, the Data Controller has the right to verify the accuracy of the submitted data using publicly available registers.
3.3. The legal basis for processing personal data is Article 6(1)(a), (b), (c), and (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
(a) The Data Subject has given consent for the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes; (b) Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the Data Subject is a party or to take steps at the request of the Data Subject prior to entering into a contract; (c) Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the Controller is subject; (f) Processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of the Controller or a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the Data Subject requiring data protection, especially if the Data Subject is a child.
3.4. The Data Controller stores and processes the Data Subject's personal data as long as at least one of the following criteria applies:
3.4.1. The personal data is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected; 3.4.2. The Data Controller and/or the Data Subject can exercise their legitimate interests under applicable regulations, such as filing objections or initiating legal proceedings; 3.4.3. There is a legal obligation to retain data, such as under accounting laws; 3.4.4. The Data Subject's consent for the relevant personal data processing is still valid, provided no other legal basis for processing exists.
Once the conditions outlined in this section expire, the personal data retention period ends, and all related personal data is irreversibly deleted from computer systems and electronic and/or paper documents containing such data, or these documents are anonymized.
3.5. To fulfill obligations to You, the Data Controller has the right to share Your personal data with business partners and data processors who process the necessary data on our behalf, such as accountants, courier services, etc. The payment processing is handled by the payment platform makecommerce.lv and STRIPE, meaning our company provides the necessary payment execution data to Maksekeskus AS, the platform owner and Stripe's secure system.
Upon request, we may disclose your personal data to governmental and law enforcement agencies if necessary to defend our legal interests by filing, submitting, and defending legal claims.
3.6. When processing and storing personal data, the Data Controller implements organizational and technical measures to protect personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, disclosure, or any other unlawful processing.
4. Data Subject Rights
4.1. Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the laws of the Republic of Latvija, You have the right to:
4.1.1. Access Your personal data, receive information about its processing, and request an electronic copy of Your data, as well as transfer it to another Controller (data portability); 4.1.2. Request the correction of incorrect, inaccurate, or incomplete personal data; 4.1.3. Request the deletion of Your personal data (“right to be forgotten”), except where laws require data retention; 4.1.4. Withdraw previously given consent for personal data processing; 4.1.5. Restrict the processing of Your data – the right to request that we temporarily stop processing all Your personal data; 4.1.6. File a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate.

5. Final Provisions
5.1. This Privacy Policy is developed in accordance with the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (April 27, 2016) on the protection of individuals regarding personal data processing and free movement, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), as well as applicable laws of the Republic of Latvija and the European Union.
5.2. The Data Controller reserves the right to modify or supplement the Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Amendments take effect upon their publication on the website www.vaskala.com.
Warranty
Under Latvijan Consumer Law (Articles section 5), sellers must deliver goods that conform to the contract and are free from defects.
The legal conformity guarantee is free and lasts 2 years from the date of possession.
If a product does not match the description or expected quality, report it to us via email (vaskala@vaskala.com) or mail. If a defect is confirmed, we will either repair or exchange the item.
Return shipping costs will be refunded upon proof of payment.
The legal warranty applies independently of any additional commercial warranty.
VASKALA© is not responsible for improper use or excessive wear of its products.
Pricing & Taxes
For sales within the European Economic Area (EEA), prices include VAT. Any change in VAT rates will be reflected in the price.
For sales outside the EEA, prices are excluding tax.
For shipments outside the EU, customs duties and local taxes may apply, which are the buyer’s responsibility.
For tax-free shopping (for non-EU residents), you can request a tax refund form if your purchase exceeds €175. The VAT refund process takes 4-6 weeks after validation by customs.

Right to Refuse Orders
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for various reasons, including:
- Product is out of stock.
- Incorrect or unverifiable payment details.
- Order flagged as fraudulent.
- Pricing error.
- Delivery failure.
